Board of Veterans' Appeals Decisions
A free, condition-tagged reference archive of 500 real veterans-appeals decisions from the public record — Board of Veterans' Appeals decisions and decisions of the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims (CAVC), the court that reviews the Board; each entry is labeled with its court. Every decision shows the issue, the reasoning, and the case law cited. A single decision can involve several conditions and outcomes, so condition counts below sum to more than the total — that is multi-tagging, not an error.
Searching for a case like yours? Start with the official database
The Board publishes its full corpus — roughly 1.9 million decisions back to 1992 — in a free government search: search all BVA decisions (tip: quote exact phrases like “flat feet” and add outcome words like “granted” or “remanded”). The archive below is our curated, condition-tagged subset — useful for seeing how judges weigh evidence on claims like yours, faster than raw search.

How to read a Board decision
Granted means the Board decided the issue in the veteran's favor. Denied means it did not. Remanded is neither — the issue is sent back to the regional office for more development (an exam, missing records, a procedural fix) and comes back for another decision; a remand is not a loss. Dismissed usually means the issue was withdrawn or resolved. One more thing worth knowing before you cite a decision in your own claim: Board decisions are non-precedential — each one binds only the case it decides (38 C.F.R. § 20.1303). They are still valuable as worked examples of what evidence persuaded a judge on facts like yours.
