Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA) under the Post-9/11 GI Bill (Chapter 33, 38 U.S.C. Chapter 33) is handled through a completely different process than VA disability compensation, and the two are not linked in any way. Disability compensation is paid automatically each month once a rating decision is in effect. MHA, by contrast, is paid only after your school's certifying official (SCO) submits an enrollment certification to the VA confirming your class schedule, enrollment status, and program of study. If that certification has not been submitted yet, or was submitted late, the VA has nothing to process and no MHA will be released, regardless of how long you have been attending classes.
