Third, if you used an accredited Veterans Service Officer (VSO) or attorney, they often have access to systems like VA.gov's representative portal or can request a status update on your behalf. Fourth, if you submitted through the mail, keep your certified mail receipt or fax confirmation — this is your proof of the filing date (8/2/2026 in this case) if there's ever a dispute about timeliness.

Since this follows a prior Higher-Level Review denial, the Supplemental Claim restarts the process with a fresh look at the evidence, but it does not automatically reopen the HLR appeal itself.
If two to three weeks pass with no visible movement and no confirmation from a phone representative that the claim is logged, follow up again and consider looping in a VSO to formally request a status check and ensure the effective date of filing is protected.
